Why are we helping the Maasai at the base of Kilimanjaro?

Their land was taken for safari tourism;
Their cattle died because of lack of space and access to water;
Their children dropped out of school because there was not money for school fees.

What do we do?

We partner with the community. Together we have the opportunity to help them to rise again. We are doing this by ensuring their children get an education and training for employment, honoring their culture, and helping the them get the encouragement and support it needs to successfully navigate its new reality. Cash is what is needed for school fees, staffing, programming, and equipment.

Samuel had stayed home for more than a year. After all the family cattle dies in a drought, the parents couldn’t manage school fees. We sponsored him back.

Janet’s parents were planning to arrange a marriage for her, since they could no longer manage school fees. Now Janet is studying culinary arts.
